A Resounding Yes on ASPPA Restructure

The proposal to restructure ASPPA has received a seal of approval, and then some. To be exact, 90% approval of the credentialed members — something beyond even categorization as a landslide. After three weeks of voting, the credentialed members have spoken, and have endorsed the plan heartily.

This means validation of the Board’s decision that the best way to serve ASPPA’s traditional members going forward is to create a new sister organization dedicated to serving their unique needs and concerns. This new sister will be called ASPPA, retaining the almost half century of brand identity it has among retirement plan professionals. The “new ASPPA” will join ACOPA, NTSA and NAPA as part of the American Retirement Council, the new “hub” organization that will coordinate and support the activities of ASPPA and its sisters and serve as the collective public face for issues affecting the organization as a whole.

Although voting is now over, there still is a wealth of valuable information at the website we have created that offers detailed information about the proposal, what it means and how it will benefit ASPPA, as well as ACOPA, NTSA and NAPA. Take a look for a better understanding of what our exciting future holds!
