ASPPA Eastern Regional Conference to Connect the Dots Between Plan Compensation and Plan Operation

Plan compensation continues to make the list of common mistakes the IRS finds in qualified retirement plans. How can service providers help their clients avoid these errors? This question and more will be covered in detail at the ASPPA Eastern Regional Conference to be held April 27-28 in Philadelphia PA.

Martha Sadler, ERPA, CPC, QPA is hosting a concurrent workshop on plan compensation. In this workshop, she will address the various ways in which the definition of compensation is critical to the operation of qualified plans, from calculating benefits to performing compliance testing and more. The session will review safe harbor definitions used as the basis for plan compensation and will provide attendees with sample reconciliations to assist in detecting errors. Even with a thorough understanding and strong review processes, errors sometimes still occur. For this reason, attendees will walk through common plan compensation errors and discuss available corrections.

The 2017 ASPPA Eastern Regional Conference in Philadelphia has a wide variety of topics and several concurrent workshops from which to choose. Information about the conference is available here; registration information may be found here.
