Spring is here, and the ASPPA Women Business Leaders Forum (WBLF) is right around the corner. As you may know, this year’s conference is being held at the acclaimed Brown Palace in Denver, CO on June 5-8.

Do you lose sleep at night worrying about the privacy and security of the sensitive data your office handles each and every day? Are you concerned about the impact a breach could have on your business and your livelihood? Do you have any idea of where to begin to protect yourself and your business? ASPPA has run articles in ASPPA Connect regarding cyber security in our industry in the last year. The most recent three are available here, here and here.

At the 2017 ASPPA Women Business Leaders Forum, we are very excited to present identity theft and cyber-security expert John Sileo! John is a nationally recognized expert in cyber security and President and CEO of The Sileo Group, a think tank devoted to helping organizations secure the data that drives their profits. John has appeared on 60 Minutes, Anderson Cooper, Fox and Friends and Fox Business Willis Report. He has done training for the U.S. Department of Defense, Homeland Security, the FDIC, the National Association of Federal Credit Unions and many more. His client list includes companies such as VISA, AARP, Blue Cross, Allstate, Prudential, Zurich Insurance, Lincoln Financial and many more.

John specializes in making security fun and entertaining for audiences, and he uses his own story of loss and resilience to help his clients take control of their data exposure before it is too late. John’s crash course forges a high-level, non-technical path through the sometimes confusing web of computer security, mobile technology, Internet connectivity, online privacy and cloud computing. When it comes to cyber security, you don’t have to do everything, just the right things. By the end of John’s engaging and interactive presentation, you will have a highly applicable and actionable blacklist of next steps necessary to protect your data, your devices and your wealth.

The ASPPA WBLF is an incredible forum for women owners and managers in our industry. Year after year, the committee focuses on bringing in speakers and developing sessions geared toward the challenges we face as business leaders, and giving us ideas to help us grow our businesses. In addition to the presentations, the sharing of knowledge and ideas that takes place during the round table sessions, social events and breaks is priceless. If you haven’t already registered for the conference, it is not too late! If you have, we look forward to seeing you there!
