PBGC Payments to Participants by State

The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) paid approximately $5.6 billion in 2017 to almost 870,000 terminated, single-employer plans. But what does that mean in the state where you and your plan are located? The PBGC makes it possible for you to find out.

The PBGC provides a listing by state of the number of retirees to whom it provided benefits in 2017, as well as how much it provided in benefits them; it breaks down state data on recipients and benefits paid by congressional district as well.
