The NTSA Summer 2018 Advocacy Update covers key legislative and regulatory developments at the state and federal level. At the federal level, discuss the Retirement Enhancement and Savings Act, the Automatic Retirement Plan Act, the DOL’s Conflict of Interest Rule, and the Securities and Exchange Commission’s proposed Regulation Best Interest. At the state-level, address four categories of legislation: automatic enrollment, pension reform, open 403(b) provider access and standard of care.

1. Get updated on forthcoming legislation and potential compliance obligations

2. Discover opportunities to participate in advocacy efforts

3. Find out about the politics affecting the tax-deferred savings marketplace

About the Speaker

Joe Caruso is Government Affairs Counsel at the American Retirement Association. His experience spans the regulatory process from policy advocacy to regulatory compliance and dispute resolution. Prior to joining ARA, Joe served as industry affairs associate at the Institutional Limited Partners Association (2017) and law clerk for investment management and brokerage firm Trustmont Financial Group (2017).
