ASEA Academy Is Here!

ASEA Monthly

Born out of the shared desire to mentor aspiring enrolled actuaries (EAs), ASEA launched the ASEA Academy earlier this month.

The ASEA Academy was the brainchild of ASEA members interested in mentoring actuarial students, supporting them in exam prep, and hopefully one day welcoming them to the EA roster and ASEA full membership.

The Academy aims to be a support for these students by offering the knowledge, resources, and mentorship opportunities that will help them succeed on the actuarial exams and eventually, as enrolled actuaries.

At they embark on membership, students preparing for exams join ASEA in the “student membership” category ($50 per year) and gain access to the Academy Forum, a Google Group for Q&As and conversation. This offers a treasure trove of resources to fuel their professional development. The Academy Forum is moderated by ASEA members volunteering their time and insights to aspiring actuaries.

While the ASEA Academy offers a range of benefits to students, the Academy is for more than learning. It is about building connections. The Academy Forum will foster an online community for students to network with people who share their interests and goals. Participants will share their experiences, learn from peers and seasoned professionals, and forge valuable connections that can propel their careers forward.

By all means, please spread this news in your networks!

If you would like to learn more about the ASEA Academy or know someone who does, ASEA Manager Tia Berry ([email protected]) will be able to help.

Allison Wielobob is the General Counsel of the American Retirement Association.
