The Actuarial Foundation Update

Happy Summer, ACOPA friends! There are some exciting things happening with The Actuarial Foundation these days. First, TAF has a new website that not only organizes the information in a more modern format, but also shows off our new look. We have spent the last year working on a new branding campaign that not only includes a new logo, but also creates a new image that captures our goal to be the premier organization proving support for math and financial literacy. This goal is achieved through the expertise of you — the actuaries.

The new website is at https://www.actuarialfoundation.org/ (same as the old url). Please be sure to check out the new “Support Us” button in the upper left-hand corner.

One way we are increasing our engagement is by sponsoring a national math contest, “Modeling the Future.” The contest is open to all U.S. high school juniors and seniors. This year’s topic is Autonomous Vehicles. The scholarship prizes are quite impressive: the four winning teams will share $55,000 in scholarship money. The website for the contest is https://www.mtfchallenge.org/. We encourage all actuaries to promote the contest and send the contest website link to any math teachers they know.

For those who support The Actuarial Foundation — thank you! For those who do not and would like to learn more about our programs, please contact me at [email protected]. Our actuarial profession has been very good to us and our families. Supporting our U.S. profession’s joint philanthropic mission is a great way to give back for our good fortunes. Thank you.

Take care,

Joe
