PBGC Expands Access to Premium Filing Info

The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) has expanded the availability of filing information for those who use “My PAA,” its online premium filing system. It made the announcement on April 24.

My PAA account holders now can view the comprehensive premium filings that were successfully submitted via all e-filing methods — screen-prepared, imported and uploaded. The information includes the following:

  • premium filing data;

  • the filing’s My PAA Confirmation Number (for reporting on the related Form 5500);

  • the status of each submitted filling (e.g., if the filing posted to the plan’s account history); and

  • any filing errors/warnings (e.g., if the submitted filing failed any validations).

The PBGC also says that more data will be prepopulated and there will be additional validations to help improve accuracy for in-process screen-prepared and imported filings.

My PAA account holders that have “view account history” permission (assigned by the plan’s filing coordinator) for an active plan also can access the plan’s account history via the Plan Page. The account history will not be displayed if the plan has been trusteed by PBGC.

Additional information is available at Online Premium Filing with My PAA and on the PBGC’s practitioners page. Information is also available from PBGC premium staff by sending an email to [email protected] or by calling 1-800-736-2444 and selecting “2” for premiums.
