The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) on April 17 announced that minor changes to its standard and distress termination forms and instructions have been approved by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).
The PBGC reports that changes include:
- a new option for submitting these filings by email;
- the ability to request a pre-filing consultation to determine if a distress filing application is warranted; and
- a slight modification so that post-distribution certifications — Forms 501 and 602 — can be used for pre-2018 and post-2017 standard and distress terminations.
