The IRS has issued opinion and advisory letters for pre-approved defined contribution plans; the restatement cycle for these plans will run through April 30, 2016. This webcast will address common provisions found in prototype and volume submitter plan documents, the options that may be available for election with respect to such provisions, the advantages and disadvantages of various alternatives, and the impact that interim amendments adopted since the last restatement may have on the choices you make.

Learning Objectives:

    • Identify common plan provisions and distinguish between what is actually required by law vs. what may be a limitation of the plan document.
    • Identify the reasons for electing one option as opposed to another and describe the impact of that election on other plan provisions.
    • Use the plan restatement process as an opportunity to identify and correct existing issues and to enhance client relationships.
