There has been an increased focus by the IRS and independent auditors on the mechanics of 401(k) deferral elections and their proper implementation of those elections. This webcast will focus on deferral elections requirements, elections not to participate, partner deferral elections, handling irregular pay (such as bonuses or tip income), compensation used for deferral and matching purposes, and plan corrections when problems arise.

    Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent (ERPA)

    The webcast is designed to offer registrants 2 ERPA CE credits. The final decision as to the number of ERPA credits rests solely with the Internal Revenue Service.

    ABOUT THE SPEAKER

    Robert Richter, J.D., LL.M., APM

    Robert is a vice president with SunGard Relius in Jacksonville, Fla. Robert manages the consulting department and is instrumental in authoring and supporting SunGard Corbel's retirement plan documents. He is a frequent lecturer and author on matters involving qualified retirement plans and cafeteria plans. He has held numerous positions within ASPPA (president from Oct. 2011 to Oct. 2012) and is currently serving as treasurer of the American Retirement Association. Robert is a member of numerous other organizations, including the Florida Bar.
