ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Amy Viener, ASA, MAAA
Amy joined PBGC in their policy department in 2004 as a "Visiting Actuary" to provide a private sector perspective to the funding reform debate. During her tenure in this capacity, she provided technical assistance to Congressional and White House Staff during legislative process that ultimately became the Pension Protection Act of 2006. She became a permanent PBGC employee in 2008, primarily focusing on policy issues.
Prior to joining PBGC, she worked for 22 years as a pension consultant in the private sector, primarily with Mercer, and served as enrolled actuary for large and mid-sized defined benefit plans. Ms. Viener is a frequent speaker at Actuarial Conferences (ASPAA/ACOPA, Enrolled Actuaries Meeting, Conference of Consulting Actuaries Meeting). Ms. Viener is a graduate of Pennsylvania’s Bucknell University.
Kenneth M. Vollmer, MSPA
Ken joined Means & Associates, LLC, in San Diego, CA in 2007 and has over 25 years’ experience in the pension actuarial field, consulting on plans that cover the broad spectrum of plans in size and complexity. He graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a BA in Statistics and Economics. Ken previously co-chaired ASPPAs Education & Exam committee and currently chairs the ACOPA RPA Advisory Group.
