Retirement Plan Fundamentals Part 2 (RPF-2) Webcast Series

ASPPA’s Retirement Plan Fundamentals program is designed to convey the knowledge necessary for every retirement plan professional to master. The RPF-1 and RPF-2 webcast series aid in establishing the groundwork in retirement plan terminology, issues, and requirements for individuals beginning a career, reentering the retirement field, or commencing the ASPPA credential process.

CONTINUING EDUCATION INFORMATION 

ASPPA Members

Each webcast is designed to offer registrants up to 2 ASPPA CE credits for a total of 14 CE credits for those who register and attend all 7 webcasts in the series. If registering for each webcast separately, each webcast is 2 CE credits. 

Enrolled Actuaries

Each webcast is designed to offer registrants up to 2 JBEA Non-core CE credit for Enrolled Actuaries for a total of up to14 CE credits for those who register and attend all 7 webcasts in the series. The final decision as to the number and type of JBEA credits rests solely with the Joint Board for the Enrollment of Actuaries.

Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent (ERPA) 

Each webcast is designed to offer registrants up to 2 ERPA CE credit for a total of up to14 CE credits for those who register and attend all 7 webcasts in the series. The final decision as to the number of ERPA credits rests solely with the Internal Revenue Service.

Continuing Education Changes for RECORDED Webcast Attendees

Once registered , attendees will receive a confirmation letter directing them to the “Access Recorded Webcasts” page with a link to the WebEx OnDemand Center. Each registered viewer will be tracked when they log in with their name and email address. The webcast link will expire once the attendee has satisfied the CE requirement. CE credits will be applied to their record on a periodic basis.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

John P. Griffin, Esq.

John has over 30 years experience in the employee benefits field. Currently, John is a principal with the ASC Institute (ASCi). Prior to joining ASCi, John was a principal with the pension consulting firm Global Benefit Advisors, LLC (GBA), a Vice President with Pension Publications of Denver, Inc. (PPD) and a senior consultant with the benefit consulting practice of Coopers & Lybrand. Prior to entering private consulting, John worked in the Employee Plans Division in the National Office of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as a Tax Law Specialist. John also has seven years of experience with the U.S. Department of Labor.  John is a frequent lecturer and trainer in the employee benefits field.  He is an active member of the Colorado Bar.

Robert L. Long, CLU, ChFC, APM 

Bob is product manager for Actuarial Systems Corporation and is heavily involved in the daily valuation and trading aspects of the pension industry. A 30-year industry veteran, Bob managed a variety of pension administration operations within the insurance industry before becoming involved with systems development. He currently serves on ASPPA’s Board of Directors and previously Co-Chaired ASPPA’s Education and Examination Committee. Bob was also involved with the roll out of the new IRS Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent designation (via AIRE) and served on AIRE’s Board of Managers.
