Bonestroo Hails ASPPA Role; Iverson Assumes 2024 Presidency

Inside ASPPA

Justin Bonestroo, MSEA, EA, CPC, QPA, QKA®, CPFA®, 2023 ASPPA President, in remarks at the Oct. 22 opening of the 2023 ASPPA Annual Conference at National Harbor, MD, noted the role the organization has played in the last year.

ASPPA has a positive influence, he said, and noted its work with legislators and regulators in 2023 on behalf of the industry and those whom it serves. “This year serves as a great example of what ASPPA can do,” Bonestroo told attendees, especially in light of the enactment of the SECURE 2.0 Act and the activity that ensued after that to implement its provisions.

Bonestroo also thanked 2024 President-Elect Amanda Rae Iverson, APM, for her help and support during his term of office. And he expressed confidence in her tenure in the role he held, remarking the "she will be a fantastic president in 2024.”Bonestroo symbolically hands the gavel to Iverson.

Iverson, in her remarks, in return thanked Bonestroo, saying that “he made a lasting impression” as ASPPA President. She also thanked ARA CEO Brian Graff for his support, and noted the importance of the volunteers who were active in 2023. Iverson said that she is very excited about next year.

Both Bonestroo and Iverson remarked on the deeper importance of ASPPA. “We’re so much more than the name on the textbook I got when I joined,” said Bonestroo. For her part, Iverson said, “ASPPA has a funny way of bringing people together and making connections, and even lifetime friendships.”
